When is a pike lure too large?

I guess the answer is 'never'. The photo below is real and shows a 56" pike with a 36" smaller pike in its mouth. The smaller one had taken a lure and the angler caught both in the same net. Caught on Turtle Lake in Canada (not sure where).

(thanks to Dave for the link showing the size and location info may not be correct)

Mind you they can be too big at times and in certain conditions.

Ive watched small jacks (4-5lb) scare away from a lure in shallow clear conditions but take quite happily when presented a smaller one. I think its more that they can see that a bigger lure isnt real in those conditions rather than the size itself though.

Dave - from your link, the photo is real but the location I gave might be wrong. I'll correct the location and thanks for the info.
