Bad Weather for the week end.

With bad weather forecast for the weekend will you still be out and about casting a line.

I'm off after Zander tomorrow, so the bad weather is welcome, but have you been put off and does the lure of a hot cuppa and warm house seem more attract then a cold and wet day outside?

Stephen

Good luck with the Zander session.

I must amit I am more 'selective' about going fishing especially with the mess that is due to roll across Oxfordshire tonight and tomorrow morning - I think it may be better to wait untill Sunday afternoon when there will be a tinge of colour in the river and all the 4lb Perch are feeding avidly along with the 2lb Roach and 6lb Chub.......far more civilised that way.

Tomorrow will be a little hoovering :yucky: and coffee drinking I think :D

Thankfully I'd planned a Sunday trip this weekend - still on unless the river looks 'orrible when I have a recce tomorrow...

When you do the recce - can you let me know the state of the Kennet up the West Berkshire end? I'm thinking of a possible trip on Monday - I would appreciate the heads up on the River conditions before I commit myself.

Sunday should be good, finally some much needed rain between now and then. The Thames was even flowing this morning, for the first time in months. I'm not too fussed about the 2lb roach - I'll wait a couple of weeks and get a '3' from Timsbury - but a 4lb perch and a 6lb chub should be easily manageable.

I'm just about to make up a batch of cheesepaste - mmmmm!

It's not so much the rain as the wind that's likely to put my plans on hold, rumours of 70 mph over here!.........it's getting up now.

Eating wild caught fish is good for my health, reduces food miles and keeps me fit trying to catch them........it's my choice to do it, not yours to stop me!

Thanks Chris, that will be appreciated - it's not the weather it's the River thats the problem.

I look after trees - I'm going to be busy! However, I think that the 70mph is an exaggeration by the Met Office, since 1997 they tend to err omn the 'cautious' side. I think there will be gusts but only up to Force 7 -e.g. 50+mph. Windy enough though!

Might help you all to know that all the rain over the SE today raised the water temp in my local lakes from 47F up to 51F !! I would imagine it had the same effect further west?
