Damn!

It seems that I've got a meeting of the Kent & Essex Sea Fisheries Committee on the 22nd Feb (I was already sweating on the fact that it's close to my 1st grandchild's expected arrival date).

So, if anyone wants my place ...................

I've just realised how close this is! Does anyone know what it's been like down there recently?

From what I hear its not been fishing at all well - but then again its been coloured up with snow melt etc - grayling don't like coloured water!

I'm fishing it on the 19th - will post a full report when I get back!

Therefore, there will be nothing left uncaught by the 20th. :D

I must say I'm slightly excited by the prospect of a day on the Itchen. However, if it's full of run off I'll be right vexed, and you wouldn't like me when I'm vexed......

Then again, it won't be. It will be a fine crisp wintery day with occasional sunny spells. The snowdrops will be out and the first wild daffodils and maybe even primroses will be appearing. May even be an early brimstone butterfly.

The grayling will be on the bait and large roach will make an appearance as the light fades. :D
