Its certainly cold here Barry. Our max today was just +8c, its dropped from + 20c just a week ago.

The coldest has been a part of Teruel, at -23c....although much of Spain has seen between -12c and -17c last night.

People keep snow chains in their cars here in the mountain regions. they are cheap here and work well.

All the commercial airports are open so i heard though. Hope so. im flying on weds.

which proves my long held belief that "scientists" are in it for only the money ,bad is good for the wallet really bad even better the badder you can make people think it is the better it is for you so bad it is at least.

the IPCC have consistently downgraded the sea level "worst case" scenario every time its questioned but still the original "worst case" figures are spouted about as some sort of incontrovertible TRUTH by anyone with a vested interest it may profit

He would appear to be a very wealthy man indeed - I don't understand why the Pachauris and Gores of this world need so much money - if they practised what they preach, lived the kind of modest, low carbon sackcloth and ashes existence they prescribe for us ordinary folk, they would find themselves totally incapable of spending even an average salary. So what do they need all that filthy lucre for?

as i'v said in many posts why do people quote anything that suits them without looking further?

its the "expert" or "scientist" bit again ,people hanging on suedo experts every word without checking one iota if they are telling the truth based on 100% proven fact ,ofcourse its impossible to get that but these "experts" and "scientists" know full well no-one will have the inkling to perhaps question these "facts" and be proved wrong or moreso have the money to re-examine the tortuous path it takes to get it.

"experts" are quoted every where rarely IMHO are they more than interested parties grabbing a chance of air time or MP like jokers in white coats telling you want you (the person who pays for the research) want to hear without having to prove a thing.

theres thousands of old wives tales told by "experts" every year ,theres lots of facts that are not and we know it yet still say them

 

scientists dont work for nothing they get funded for research disagreeing with the funder ensures their out of a job so better toou can use the exact same weigh the scales on the funders side by hiding or not offering anything that could disagree with what the funder wants. pounds of flesh are welcomed

infact you can use the exact same statistics and come out with any "facts" you want as AL Gores fantasy doom fest was shown to be rubbish by another person examining it but more closer.

Some time ago, it was posted that in medieval times it was possible to grow cereals in Iceland.

The Romans were growing grapes in northern England at the time, it must have been fairly warm!

Are there any maps available to show the extent of sea levels at that time?
