Hiya John,

I've just spent a bit of time over there some really scary stuff and egos ... all I can say is I really do feel sorry for the anglers south of the Border :( :(

I know what you mean Davy, thanks for the sympathy mate, we need it.

We needn't worry too much though, because if some on there have their way, all posts that appear negative will be conducted in private, so as not to scare the plebs. :D

John.

Angling is more than just catching fish, if it wasn't it would just be called 'catching'......... John

I think it is best not to feed you with anymore ammo, I agree Davy, this thread is doing nothing to help the Angling Trust, including my part in it, so I will stop feeding the trolls at this point.

Regards Bob.

Hiya John,

Hiyer Davy, don't feel too sorry for the southerners until you have had a read of my rebelling within the ranks topic. Regards. :D

Free to choose apart from the ones where the trust poked their nose in. Common eel. tope. Bass and sea bream. All restricted.

New for 2016 TAT are the main instigators for the demise of the u k bass charter boat industry, where they went screaming off to parliament and for the first time assisting so called angling gurus set up bass take bans with the e u using rubbish exaggerated info collected by ices from anglers, they must be very proud.

Upgrade, the door has been closed with regards to anglers being linked to the e u superstate and the failed c f p. So TAT will no longer need to pay monies to the EAA anymore as that org is no longer relevant to the u k . Goodbye to the europeon anglers alliance and pathetic restrictions from the e u.

Angling is better than politics, ban politics from angling.

Consumer of bass. where is the evidence that the u k bass stock need angling trust protection. Why won't you work with your peers instead of castigating them. They have the answer.

Recipie's for mullet stew more than welcomed.

Angling sanitation trust and kent and sussex sea anglers org delete's and blocks rsa's alternative opinion on their face book site. Although they claim to rep all.

new for 2014. where is the evidence that the south coast bream stock need the angling trust? Your campaign has no evidence. Why won't you work with your peers, the inshore under tens? As opposed to alienating them? Angling trust failed big time re bait digging, even fish legal attempted to intervene and failed, all for what, nothing.

Looks like the sea angling reps have been coerced by the ifca's to compose sea angling strategy's that the ifca's at some stage will look at drafting into legislation to manage the rsa, because they like wasting tax payers money. That's without asking the rsa btw. You know who you are..

Tis OK I'm Scottish, so well used to being shafted by Government & their agencies. I draw the line at being shafted by my own fellow "anglers" though.

I don't believe that the AT are anti angling. It is just that they are listening to a tiny minority of anglers to formulate their opinions. (I think I've said this before) The vast majority of opinion holders, anglers, don't know the issues because it hasn't been publicised. The lack of publicity I lay squarely on the shoulders of the EA who, in my opinion are obliged to inform all of the people who purchased a rod licence of potential changes to the angling 'rights' that they paid for last year. They should not change these rights during a licence period and they certainly should give all customers value for money.

This is where the AT should be standing up and representing anglers. They should be hammering the EA to publicise the issues nationally. If necessary by TV and radio advertising. The EA did it last year about buying licences! The AT should be pushing the EA to delay the current proposals until all anglers have had a chance to respond. That would be the AT representing all anglers and that is what I would expect them to do before I pay my £20.

If they do so I will gladly pay my £20. If they claim to represent all anglers yet only pander to the minority they will get what they deserve, nothing.

Eating wild caught fish is good for my health, reduces food miles and keeps me fit trying to catch them........it's my choice to do it, not yours to stop me!

........you should have a look at the posts on there by Adrian Nichols, if anyone is going to drive anglers away then this guy will. Sadly, his attitude is typical of some of the others I've heard.

John.

Blimey, you ain't kidding

Looking forward to you posting a copy here of your latest post on the AT web site Steve, i won't copy and paste it, as i can just imagine how much time and effort you have put in to it.

If it doesn't gain positive responce or comments from the AT hiaracy then i don't think there will be any benifit for the rsa in joining the AT.

These people will keep insisting that I explain myself and justify the comments I make. Even though our illustrious 'leaders' consistently fail to do so. So, I have given them a very concise outline of what I think, and why. It did take a long time, because so much has gone on that it was hard deciding what to put in and what to leave out. I've actually been very kind. (If I'd put in some of the finer details, it would have made Dallas look like the Magic Roundabout!)

As for positive comments, I think we both know what sort of response it's going to get.

I wrote and posted it on the AT forum in response to a couple of AT members calling for it. If you think there might be any interest on this forum, you can copy and paste it if you like, Barry. Or stick a link up. Somehow, though, I think that most of the anglers on this forum already know the score.

A very interesting post Steve, it answered a few questions I've asked in the past :P

It will be interesting to see the AT's response, let's hope it doesn't get "swamped" by some of the err, shall we say, less tolerant? posters.
