I need to get myself a good and reliable set of thermal waterproofs I prefer a bib and brace but have no idea what is good I don't care what colour but don't want to spend several hundred pounds on them. One of my concerns is the strength of the trousers over the years I have had a few that just fell apart and ripped as soon as they saw a twig. I am not a tall man 5' 9" but I am well built 46" to 47" 117cms to 120cms chest 35" 90cms waist. fairly long legs 32" 81" I mention this as I have had some that made me look and move like a clown...hehehe I could have got someone in the trousers with me...hehehe

Sundridge Siberian Heavyweight. Had mine for almost 10 years now. I fish most weekdays right thro' the year so it has had a LOT of wear. Totally waterproof...EXTREMELY warm...........seat is reinforced so it doesn't let water when sitting on a box/seat, knees the same.

Online for £99.99 with a pair of boots :)

Can't fault it in any way.

Sundridge every time, both me and my lad have a set and they're superb but get a two piece as the one piece is a bit overpowering heat wise when you're on the move

My exeriences with Sundridge have been less good. I bought a Sundridge Nimbus suit for holiday fishing and it barely lasted two years. The nylon lining of the pockets went. then the trouser pockets tore at the junction of the zips.

Bump

Any new suggestions as I want to get some new outer wear for winter.

I currently have a Sundridge Nimbus which is nice and light I was thinking a reasonable light bib and brace that could be waorn over the sleepskin system would be ideal.

Since getting the above advice I have been looking all around and without trying it out just going by look and feel the Wychwood Maximiser set looks good - Jacket with detachable fleece, trousers - I tried a pair on and the trousers come up as high as chest waders on me. But I liked them as they were not camo and they seemed very light - one of my fishing buddies wears a lightweight TFG set and he had had that for a few years without a problem and is very happy with it.

Many thanks Den and Brian

I am taking your advice.

For me it's going to be the heavy end of the Sundridge range.

I've not got any of the TFGear waterproofs but the clothes I've had off them have been about the best of the fishing clothing I've bought. I've had a siberian by sundridge and it was a great set but it wasn't a good fit for me so another AN member bought it from me.

I have a set of british army gortex waterproofs that can wear over as many layers as I like. If If I where looking for some waterproofs from an angling company then personally I'd be looking at the TFGear clothing.

I have british army gortex my only real issue with it is a distinct lack of pockets, the complete opposite of the Nimbus.
