I can fish the Teme from today but I have to wait until March 3rd for the Wye and tributaries!

Eating wild caught fish is good for my health, reduces food miles and keeps me fit trying to catch them........it's my choice to do it, not yours to stop me!

Seems he hasn't endeared himself to fellow anglers too well!

Blimey, he must know something, I usually fail to catch them at any time of the year!

Have to like him for speaking his mind on that one. Btw he used to fish Lomond - ever hear about his last request....?

"He would like a gravestone on an island in Loch Lomond - any one would do, such as the one that's closest to Balmaha. 'The stone should be horizontal like a table,' he says, 'so you can have a cup of tea on it.'

The only other gravestone inscription he would settle for is tiny writing in the middle of a huge stone. The writing should be so small that people would have to get up really close to read: 'You're standing on my balls'."

Of course, if you want God on your side, you need to open your season like this:

Well, if the Cardinal of Rheims can curse a jackdaw, I suppose a locum priest can bless a salmon river.

I wonder how catches will compare with unblessed years.
