the usuall northern diatribe is " their more friendly" which really means their really nosy and "we can go out and leave our doors unlocked" maybe thats because by now anything of value has already been nicked.

Believe NOTHING anyones says or writes unless you witness it yourself and even then your eyes can deceive you

None of this "the enemy of my enemy is my friend" crap it just means i have at least two enemies!

Hey, wait a minute, East Anglia, the hill free swamp does count, if only for the quality of our ale! Check out our Breweries & the CAMRA Awards that they get. Adnams Ales is like virgin's water, hard to find but well worth searching out. And we don't pander to our sheep, no way, horses is our thing, a man's mount! The Suffolk Punch is world famous, even have 'em in the U.S. Sheep . . . baa!

As a Norfolkman, I must support Peter Waller. Real salt-of-the earth types there, and the beer is good - none of yer over-hopped southern beers, or the acidic gnats p... from those people that also market tea-bags up north.

First day at work I was confronted by a bloke who said "Aah cooms fra' Yoorkshire, and aah says what aah thinks" To which my response was " You're someone arter my own haart, bor, a man of few words" I think he is still working that one out.

Moved south when a kid, after sixty years am almost accepted by the sturdy yeomen of rural Sussex - unofficial motto "Won't be druv" ( part of irregular verb - "I am firm, you are obstinate, (s)he is a pig-headed fool")

Northern women are fine though - my late first wife was a lass from the Peak District, and I went north again to the dales for Norma, my second wife - as a previous poster said, no wonder those blokes from north of the Trent are miffed.

How to wind up a Yorkshireman - refer to him as a midlander, and when he gets shirty, suggest "The North starts at Darlington lad".

Its all good fun though, and I hope taken as such - and I haven't even mentioned Welsh sheep sh...sh...shearers.

Look boys this North South thing is now over the North wins? Why well just look at a refief map of the UK and what do you see, let me help you out the brown bits are the hills the green bits are the bits that Flood first when the Global warming kicks in so its East Anglia first the London need I go on.

But a smart move by the Southern boys was to marry Good Northern Totty this gets you into the North when the great flood starts.

Now in the process we take out a few Yorkshire men and Cheshire plains boys so be it.

The best part in all this is the English Channel is now the English sea and the Frogs are well out of it.
