- Campaign for the creation and enforcement of Marine Protected Areas to protect the most ecologically-important habitats and fisheries;

- Quantify and disseminate the impact of recreational sea angling on fisheries and habitats;

- Produce and distribute guidance to our members on minimisation of any impact identified;

- Build partnerships with the Marine Conservation Society and the marine sections of RSPB and WWF;

 

As Steve asked, who's funding this little number? :o

As Steve asked, who's funding this little number? :o

 

 

Well, looking at that little list, whoever is stumping up the cash, it's pretty clear that the creation of this new position won't be in the best interest of sea anglers - of that you can be sure.

 

It's a sad state of affairs when you have to beware of the damage that your only 'representative' body is capable of inflicting upon your sport. As for who is stumping up the cash, I'd have money on it being some environmentalist group or other. Possibly, one with an angling 'un-friendly' agenda.
