I think they are wide awake and are very very hungry. I had one topping in my swim going for the balls of groundbait I was pulting in :D

How did you get on Dales?

 

Well I've had worse fishing sessions.

 

I ended up with 17 Tench, my PB was changing every few hours. Glyn came by as I was returning my first fish of the weekend 6.07, I was so excited it beat my previous PB by one ounce. Just as well he did not see me doing the Tench Dance of Joy with the other fish. Things just kept on getting better and better as the weekend went on my PB kept on going up and up. Most of the fish were high six pounders or low sevens. But the haul included 7.10, 7.12, 8.01, 8.07 and the icing on the cake 9 lb 2 3/4 oz.

 

What does Steve feed them on, steriods? they don't have fight :D

 

The few fish I had back in March came in like Bream, coming to the top waiting to be netted, but all these ones fought all the way to the net. Top fishing.

If the water's clear they 'dont half hang on' in there!

 

Well done that's a good session by anyones standards, I've tried to temp the missus into it at the weekend so I'm hoping I'll be up there Saturday until Monday with any luck!

Excellent result Dales, well done. I am currently sitting in my office surrounded by a mountain of tackle desperately trying to reduce it down to one barrowload for the weekend. Will be going down Friday or Saturday for the first session of the year dependant on what time I get back from Cumbria on Thursday. As per usual there are too many what ifs. :unsure:

I don't know the haul of Tench I had at my first AN Wingham Fish In was very special. All 2 lb of him :D I think I single handedly ruined Steve's averages that year with one fish :)

Im really looking forward to this weekend! The lakes going to be packed! :D

 

Well by Wingham standards any way!!

 

Sounds like everyone will be there this weekend - except for me :( I was going but can't now as I need to help my girlfriend with some coursework that's stressing her out.

 

So I'm going after work tomorrow until Saturday morning instead :)

 

It's all looking good for the fish-in, the lake's got off to a tremendous start!

 

Although since Steve pointed out what the Cettis warblers sound like I do feel a bit guilty. I know they're rare but I had one just outside my bivvy last time I was there, calling all through the night, and it was driving me bonkers!
