Yeah, lifes a bitch ennit ? Went to Wingham for a bream and only caught tench :) Went to a new lake to catch Tench, and only caught a carp :) I think even Gozzer would be happy to be pestered by one of those :)

Congrats on your first 40lbs+ Den great looking fish, you certainly have the Midas touch at the moment. Well done. :thumbs:

Fishing seems to be my favorite form of loafing.

I know the joy of fishes in the river through my own joy, as I go walking along the same river.

 

What do you think if the float does not dip, try again I think.

The base and ends are all moulded in one piece out of lead, and weigh 70grams.............good for setting hooks :) The edges are turned up "spoon like". This helps to keep the feed in place, acts like a shield on impact, and lets the feeder rise in the water on the retrieve.

 

As you can probably tell, they ALWAYS land the right way up...................

 

My earlier conversions were with 1/16th sheet lead, cut and fitted under the old Fox feeders. Can't buy that model anymore so I had to make my own :)

Thanks Den. That has given me some food for thought. I have not made moulds for ages but I do have a few small ali billets knocking about which I could make inverted open moulds from. Excellent idea to form the base to give a planing effect when reeling in. Did you lock the rig tube by creating a squeeze effect. Reminds me of the time when I was a young lad. We used to live in a pub and there used to be loads of pewter measures some of which I melted down for weights. Got a right rollocking for that as they belonged to the Brewery. :)
