Silver fish - so called because they can't identify them because they are not carp!

Bagging - I can't understand how this is used with islands, mountains and peaks, how can you bag an island is beyond me???????!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Male anglers who think women haven't a clue when it comes to fishing!!! :P

I wonder can they identify or recognise Carp?

Thanks for that valuable input (or should that be output?) Janet.Just goes to show you never stop learning with Anglers Net.

Assuming that the turds shown have been passed without surgical intervention it does beg the question exactly how big indeed does one need to be to be in fact unfeasible and therefore a true Chod?

And thats my "non indicative opinion"!

These are usually combined into a single hateful sentence that despite my calm demenour, makes me want to beat the offending simpleton to within an inch of his unimaginative life with a copy of the OED.

'Alright geez, had a result last night, had ****face at 39.10, biggest in the syndi mate. Was 'aving a social, just banged out a chod and a few chops, camoed up the rig like, course this is a mainline lake mate so I got on the cell for this season, pukka bait, it's doin' the business down here this year, thought I might get my target fish once the noddies had ****ed off home like. Was in the Armo and the delk screeched off, rest is history, went 39.10 on the reubens. Next target is Pisswings, course that means doin' a bit of guesting, know what I mean?'

CHRIST

 Sounds just like Danny Fairbass, the Korda 'geezer'!

....and what about, 'Critical' balance rigs, what's so critical about 'em?

Is it that the boilie is precision turned to within 5 thou of a millimetre or that the weight is within 6X10 to the 12th of a Nano-Gram? Does the atomic mass increase if it is presented wrong? NO... Come on, surely close or near enough is sufficient!!?

Budgie, you've really brought this topic down to the gutter - nice one

There's another one missing from the Bristol chart (a disappointing name for a list of turds if there ever was one - not at all what I was expecting). There's that one that's like number 6 but impossibly violent, usually makes a very sudden appearance when you're at the far side of a big lake and thought it would be a good idea to eat a tin of Stagg Chilli. (Completely hypothetical, of course.)

It could be that the answer to the above is to always carry a pair of bicycle trouser clips but the key one that is missing from the Bristol chart and Janets gallery is the one that instills fear, makes the eyes water and promotes a prayer to a deity and if one is lucky enough to be seated, white knuckles.

I had a blue poo once... far too many 'blue lagoons' at a mates house.

How would you class the 'Machine Gun'? As it seems to be a potent mixture of 1 and 7 on the Bristol Stool Scale and usually encountered after a BBQ.

I believe the 'Pile Driver' and 'Chilli Bomb' are only accurately measured on the Richter Scale and the VEI (volcano explosivity index) respectively.

What the hell is a chod anyway

As I have heard it used, it is a general term "chod" (not "a" chod) which describes a bottom composed of decaying leaves, very common in ponds and dams surrounded by trees.

So a "chod rig" describes a rig designed to sit lightly on top of weed or decayed vegetation, I have no quarrel with that.

Thanks to Budgie's research we now know the derivation of the word ! So "chod" describes the nature of the bottom in a semi-stagnant woodland pool as politely as possible - think how else one of our coarser brethren might have described it

II have never seen a fishery owner so angry - he said if anyone had so little regard for fish as to call them "scum" he didn't want such an oaf on his water - banned the carpie for life on the spot, and told him to report to the office for his season ticket money back.

Made my day!

Made mine too - just reading it!

I've never liked the term Coarse - seems to imply that we're in some way inferior and not has refined as other anglers.....oh, hang on! :D

Ive heard of the "Bristol Chart" (a scale for defining the hard/softness of human feces) so maybe the feasibility of turd sizes was an off shoot of this research?

bristol.jpg

Mind you I personally have always had issues with the accuracy of the Bristol Chart, they have surely missed out one very common stool? "The Mr Whippy" that should most likely be in between No6 and No7?

I had never heard of this chart before, so that's something new I have learned today.

OED definition of a "Chod" - an unfeasibly large turd.

lol thats a great description. Only a carpist would use an unfeasibly large turd rig. Fantastic. Made my day that one. :D
