Most excellent young man, may this be the first of many great Perch sessions. Nice to see someone checking out the area and using a bit of watercraft, certainly paid off for you.

Thanks - I put a lot of effort into reconnaisance - particularly when, like today, I'm going to be turning up at my swim in the dark!

Well done, Chris!

 

I had a reconnaissance session with the spinning rod on a water I've never fished for perch. Not a sniff of a perch, though there is some very perchy water. Those chub do like the soft shads - had one of about 2lb hit it like a ton of bricks!

Well done indeed, what a catch.

 

As regards the Lambourn upstream of the weir - is it worth fishing since the 'works'?

I snuck on at the end of last season - and it looks excellent - a couple of years to get established and it could be very good indeed!
