The biggest thing that concerns me is the likelihood of some looney and he/she does not even have to be a greenie is the possible reintroduction of Boars, Large Cats, Wildcats and Bears, I'm not bothered about the Wolves. All in the name of getting back to a natural balance, next it will be back to transportation for catching the wrong type of fish or fishing the wrong part of the bank.

 

 

Are you being serious?

 

Plus why do the Wolves get special treatment?

Is a "green loonie" similar to a 'blue meanie'? You know, the ones we've got in Government now. :unsure:

 

With all this talk of introducing alien species into our countryside, I'm afraid that some loonie anglers might consider doing the same with fish. I dread the day when we see all manner of foreign species swimming around our waters. Worse still, I bet some of them are stupid enough to allow them to escape into our rivers, and spread, to the detriment of the indigenous stock. I hope I'm wrong, but I fear I'm not. :(

 

 

Sorry about that. I must have had a flash back to myself 35yrs ago. It happens sometimes, I just need to keep taking the medication.

Its a bit late for that Mr T take a look here http://www.britishwildboar.org.uk/ as far as I am aware there are already significant breeding populations in much of thye country. Good job they do not eat fish; he he as you say.

But most anglers are not bothered by the Boar as they don't eat our precious fish stocks. But if any one can find some flimsy evidence that they do we should take action.

 

Maybe we should shoot them to be on the safe side, you never know given enough time they might get a taste for fish. They will eat almost anything, so we should call for a cull to protect our fish stocks :rolleyes:

Yes I know all about the proposed and unopposed release of wild Boars in the UK.

 

Anglers should be bothered by Boars they are more than capable of eating an angler without the slightest problem for the Boar, they are large, pretty fast, very aggressive and almost as dangerous as a Tiger with a sore tail...I have hunted wild Boars and they need to be taken very seriously...I did it in the old fashioned way with a traditional spear and a very large knife as well as having hunted them with rifles.

 

Bears can also be a slight problem especially for my sweet and meat eating fellow anglers sitting under their bivvies when the not so friendly Bear arrives for a share of the food...hehehe

BTW I had a wild boar in my garden last night. Common as muck around here.

Eating wild caught fish is good for my health, reduces food miles and keeps me fit trying to catch them........it's my choice to do it, not yours to stop me!
