Anglers Mail front page has a headline Jeremy Wade verses Robson Green.

I don't think there is much point asking who you might think is the better angler. I kind of think that is obvious, but then again I have never known us to all agree on anything and it's possible we might have different views on that aswell :D

We have a few threads hanging about at the moment singing the praises or pointing out the short comings of Mr Robson & Mr Wade and their shows. So we certainly have views on these "adventure anglers" but which one is the more entertaining.

I was going to ask Who do you think would win in a fight, but decided that was a little childish :D

So who gets your vote as the most entertaining?

Had second thoughts and have added the best angler and fight question. Feeling we need some light hearted banter :D

Stephen

They are both a bit poncy so I suppose it would be a bit of a biatch fight! lots of slapping (but hard for either of them to do much hair pulling!) Neither are exactly "hard men"! but then again Jezza did walk away from that plane crash in the Amazon! I think they are both pretty crap anglers but I would say that Robson is slightly worse!

Entertainment (and so many seem to lose sight of that's what both their programmes are all about) wise I think they are on an even par despite being quite different in their approach. I like watching them and their lack of angling skill doesn't detract from this.

I don't understand why Wade is so poor skills wise (or at least comes over as such) as hes certainly been around a bit and fished with some good guys.Robson by his own admission is somewhat limited in his breadth of knowledge but it will be interesting to see after a few more series (if hes here to stay that is) if he improves technically like Paul Young did with time.

And thats my "non indicative opinion"!

Presentationally, Wade keeps repeating himself. Green simply irritates me.

I want to see Paul Boote televised doing what Wade does.... I suspect it'll be a lot more 'left field' - and aware of his surroundings.

If he talks like he writes on several forums, nobody would understand him Alan!!!!

Robson Green appeals to the masses, his self deprecation, and clown like style of presentation is entertaining to many. It's not an angling programme, it's a fishing programme, hence the netting, wrestling, bow fishing etc content.

Jeremy Wade, tries to be more serious, but I find it hilarious how he sensationalises, and dramatises every species/situation he covers. He implies that every fish he catches is liable to turn round and rip a limb off, or swallow him whole.

They each have their own type of audience, but I can't take either of them seriously, and only watch if there's nothing else on the box.

John.

Angling is more than just catching fish, if it wasn't it would just be called 'catching'......... John

He is rubbish but sky+ it and fast forward through the Robson is a jovial Geordie section to the 5 mins of fish catching at it is worth watching for the fish and the amazing locations.

They used to fish together Al but there was a bit of a bust up,cant remember the details. I liked Paul in "Casting for Gold" (a Mahseer documentary) and thought he showed remarkable self control in putting up with John Baily's constant fawning!

I miss him from the forum here as despite his some what eccentric manner he had a lot of interesting stuff to say.

And thats my "non indicative opinion"!
