Chris Tarrant resigns from the ACA

A lot of the problem is that in Allan Edwards we had a man who was dedicated to the ACA's purpose ie fighting pollution and not some one who was using it as a vehicle for his own advancement/benifit.I must hasten to add that not knowing the James's or the internal affairs of the ACA in recent years I am not accusing them of such. However I have found itis a common thing in angling.

And thats my "non indicative opinion"!

I have met Chris Liebbrandt in his Masterline days and also know Chris Tarrant - the one thing that both of them share is HONESTY, so for them to resign, methinks there is "trouble at the Mill!"

I would have been more impressed if the Chairman had been an eminent Biologist or Scientist, rather than a TV "Personality".

I don't consider that a great loss.

From PeterK's posts on Fishingmagic.com, I think he is a friend of Mr James.

Me thinks the sour grapes are surfacing.

It must be remembered that what went wrong went wrong when some of the resignees were in office.

Chis is a friend of Bobs, a shame but I understand why he went.

Whilst a number of people have left, comments on various AN threads suggests that a number have rejoined.

Sorry to loose you |Chris, but friendships must come first.

Yes, locking the office door is common practice, it has to be. As Argyll so correctly says, it prevents removal of 'interesting' papers.

Chris and I have been mates for nearly 40 years and in that time I have found him to be reliable, honest, tolerant of others and completely honest. His loss to any society or whatever - in any capacity - is a major loss. One has to question the integrity of what ever body may be involved.

Apologies for demoting/promoting Mr Tarrant.

I am sure he is honest, reliable, tolerant, trustworthy and a fine candidate for sainthood (I've even enjoyed his fishing video), but I don't see what qualifies him to be President of a anti pollution Association.

I am all of those things (not quite as tall admittedly), but I wouldn't consider myself qualified.

Unless of course, he is chosen as a household name figurehead, that goes fishing.

In which case they can go and get another one.
