Just checked my roster and I'm long weekend. Just need to double check with the better half now...

 

A few questions and some clarification, rather now than later. Sorry if I missed them in previous posts.

 

Pike? Am I allowed to target them? If not, I know what to leave behind lol! (I'm not 100% on what 'private pike fishing' actually means sorry!)

Fishing times for AN guests? Eg, Can I camp bankside? If not, can I camp on-site? If still no, where's the nearest Travelodge? :-D

What are the other rules?

 

Also, if anyone is on the way, between Great Yarmouth and Wingham, I'm more than happy to give you a lift (pending permission to 'go out and play' of course)

This Years' Targets:- As many species by lure as possible. Preferably via Kayak. 15lb+ Pike on Lure...

Species Caught 2012- Pike, Perch.

Kayak Launches- Fresh-8 Salt- 0

Kayak Captures- 14 Pike, 1 Perch.

It was a great experience last year and a couple of excellent results, including a huge Bream, I hope I can come along again and try to get into those summer tench! :D

Great shot, you do get some great sun rises and sun sets at Wingham. Just another thing that makes it such a special place to fish.

Sorry, there's no pike fishing allowed although you may catch one by accident. This means you can't use livebaits, deadbaits or lures. Everyone coming gets a copy of the rules a couple of weeks beforehand, but there are few restrictions.

 

The complex is open 7am Saturday to 7pm Monday. You can bivvy up at your swim or kip in the clubhouse that has a lounge, kitchen, bait room, toilets and shower.

Thankyou very much, that was exactly what I was looking for!

I may well be 'bivvying up' then, in my boingy tent. Depends on the weather really I guess.

 

I certainly hope to be there! Best dust off my knee pads and practice my 'puppy' look! I sicken myself sometimes.....

That is a lovely picture and one which im hoping to take myself if im one of the very lucky people to go.

I absolutely loved the itchen fish in so to fish for these bream and tench on such a beautiful stillwater for 3 days must be an experience and a half :D

Been looking through the reports and now cant stop thinking about those tench! LET ME AT THEM!!!

 

My Pineapple approach last year didnt work at all, although I was in a 'difficult' swim, as Steve said it was hardly ever fished. Steve - did you fish that back eddy as you said you were going to concentrate on it through the 2010 season?

 

Are the tench still coming out favourably to the maggot feeder approach?

 

I have booked the monday off work and the wife is happy to have me away for a few days 'rest'. Hahahaa :)
