Which carp rod and reel ?

I am looking to get a carp rod for handling fish of 20 lb + ?

 

And a freespool reel ?

 

Looking for something fairly cheap ?

 

Anything to look out for ?

I'v just kitted myself with the outlaw range, have not used it yet but i am pleased with the quality and the feel of them.

I have the shimano hyperloop and my friend has the Matt Hayes signature rod, both very good rods and under 50 quid.

Id have to go with the shimano reels

You dont say how much you are willing to spend,If you look on various forums you will pick up some great bargains aswell Ebay.

£ 50 or less for the rod and £ 20 or less for the reel .

I bought a new Fusion 2.5 test curve from Used tackle for £20 absoluteley brilliant, look at the Okuma Freespool reels, you will buy both rod and reel for under £50

The deal Dan mentions sounds good, but if you want a proven cheap baitrunner then go for an Okuma Interceptor, I used to own 2 of the bigger reels and a smaller one for feeder/light legering, i've since sold 1 of the bigger reels as i've scaled down my tackle now.
