Thats pin money...lol, When in Vegas last year I went into the Bass Pro shop out there to get some berkley crystal and was looking around at all the stuff, they have a fixed spool reel in there with a pricetag of $4500, I asked what was so special about it to the guy behind the counter and he started on about bearings etc...at that point I lost interest.......lol

They are obviously catering for a very very limited market. Plus from what I read here it is not that rated a reel.

At that price its about 122 hours at minimum wage for an over 21 year old, when fixed spools first really started to come in in the 1960 good ones were even more expensive for the average man.

Would I buy on - no as I don't think they are worth more than about £100.00

I wonder how many they made? Ugly things aren't they. You could use and destroy 20 or more 'normal' reels for the same cost and still have the same fun while fishing.

However, unless I am being stupid or need to wear my glasses - there appears to be no bail arm at all. Not even a half bail - surely that's not going to be an advantage? How does that justify £700?

EDIT: Just noticed that you can enter a review - go on, who's going to be first!

I'd pit my Mitchell 300 against it!

Eating wild caught fish is good for my health, reduces food miles and keeps me fit trying to catch them........it's my choice to do it, not yours to stop me!
