Well its been one of them nice early spring days up here today. There was a touch of frost first thing, but apart from that its been glorious with warm sunshine from start to finish.

 

Sadly i couldn't brush work aside, but i did get to the tackle shop for some maggots at dinnertime and then got packed up and out the gate by 4.25pm. Luckily i was only 5 minutes away from the river and i managed an hour and three quarters fishing before it was to dark to see the float. It was definitely worth the rushing about as the fish seemed awake and hungry. I finished with 7 chub to around 4lb and 3 roach to 1lb 7oz. :sun:

 

Sorry no pic's as there wasnt enough light for my phone camera to work when i packed up, but I think its Spring so get out there. :)

Brass monkeys in London though... Deffo not very spring like. :(

Nice one lutra, especially those roach. It's been many years since I've seen one that big, especially from a river.

 

It's gone quite wintery again here, but before this cold snap it was very spring-like.

And those who were seen dancing were thought to be insane by those who could not hear the music

Nice one Brian ! I had a couple of hours myself but only managed four chub and a carp. The biggest chub was around 3lb and the carp was about the same so no monsters. I might have a stab on the ribble tomorrow myself :D

It was freezing in Suffolk this morning and freezing in Ealing London this afternoon so for me not spring at all more like early February and gray overcast...brrrr

I took a trip down to the river on Sunday based on the forecast of it being much warmer, that didn't turn out very well. The temperature dropped that morning and the rain came down and I got very cold and wet, managed a gudgeon and a roach though while trotting :)
