With the line through it it looks as if your rod may have a problem bending near the butt if it is a through action rod.

Also I would not want the extra weight of one of those things on my rod.

Fox appear to have a similar idea with a butt bite detector that costs considerably less. Being preactical I am concerned that they might not register drop backs. However, as a bite indicator whilst trolling, I can see a very practical use. The Fox looks the better, and cheaper option.

seen a group test of alarms in an old IYCF (think it was IYCF) :confused: , didn't come out to good , poor build quality if I remember right.
