18-04 bream at Wingham!

One of the new carp anglers fishing the Coarse Lake at Wingham has just phoned me the news that he's caught an 18-04 bream from the Coarse Lake at Wingham. This is only 2ozs lower than the Wingham record.

 

Interestingly it was caught in daylight, and the successful bait was 2 grains of flavoured artificial sweetcorn.

 

Although he's got pictures, unfortunately he hasn't got a scale so we can't age the fish. He has though got a picture of the tail that enables each fish to be identified. This is because each of the Wingham bream at least has different serrations on its tail.

 

What a start to the season! Hopefully with everything waking up early this year everything will grow bigger!

I guess were all hoping its a youngish fish that still has some growing left , cant believe im saying that as its a monster at 18lb 4oz :lol:

How does the age and weight thing work for the bream at wingham in regards to what age do they stop growing and the next generations of big fish? .
