I'd love to do something like that, though I suspect it might make selling the house a bit tricky!

Here are some more you might like:

Not if you were selling it to me. I've always hunkered after a really big aquarium, ever since I started reading about Americans building 100+gallon tanks out of marine ply and 2 pack epoxy.

The problem isn't what people don't know, it's what they know that just ain't so.

Not to me either, but I think it would put most people off.

My folks had a very large pond in an ordinary sized garden at their old house, and it did put some buyers off. On the other hand, it sold the house to the bloke who did buy it, so it all comes down to finding the right buyer!

At some point in the future, we're going to have a conservatory built, and we're thinking of having a large aquarium built into it - we've run out of places to put tanks in the house :)

a past acquaintance had a garden pond but one part had steps leading down to a viewing room where he had a glass wall ,you think the one above was nice try looking at a naturalised pond with freshwater fish ,stunning

When I was a kid, we lived in a house that had a small pond that came into the conservatory and had a sheet of glass set into the side to view it. Same idea, but the window was only a couple of feet across and a foot deep, and all you could ever see was murky water, snails and tubifex worms :yucky:

I'd love to do it properly, like your acquaintance. One of those on the link I put up is basically an outdoor pond with windows into it in the house, but it's somewhere you can keep tropicals outdoors.

his was very clear and the gardener had to clean the window every friday so guests could admire it ,he used a squeegee one side and a sponge the other on a pole.

the window was probably as big as the one shown but a single bit of glass ,no doubt a very expensive bit as well :D

he had his own polo field as well so wasn't short of a penny ,Oh and his tennis court had fake grass that surprisingly had moss in it
