Now it's 3 big bream from Wingham in less than 24 hrs!

Terry's just phoned me with the news that our new member has just caught his 3rd big bream in a little over 24 hours. I'm sooooo upset because it's smaller and so has put his average down!

Joking apart, he's now packed up. I wonder how many he'd have got had he stayed on?

I gather it was only 14-12!

The captor's mobile is out of battery so I haven't got confirmation. I've said captor as he might not want his name mentioned, although I'm happy that the catch is publicised.

Congratulation to that fella who caught three big bream in a short space of time!

Mind you that fishing peg he was fishing from is going to be worn out this year from our existing coarse lake members this year!

It's not 3 bream in 2 days but in less than 24 hours! The third fish was caught about 2am, but the news didn't reach me until this afternoon. So 2 at night, 1 in daylight. I'll ask the mods to change the topic title.

What's more the captor, Malcolm Harmer, wasn't fishing just for carp! Malcolm had done so for his first 2 trips on the Coarse Lake when he blanked on boilies. On this trip Malcolm switched to plastic corn fished over a light baiting of flavoured hemp/corn to see what species he could get.

Interestingly the 17-14 came from a different area to the other 2 bream. All came in 6 to 6 1/2ft of water fishing on the edge between 2 different types of bottom - the latter will be very familiar to Wingham regulars!

Not in this case, although the gravel/silt edge is very productive. These came on the dividing line between 2 different types of silt.

You must be well pleased with the results so far Steve, even a 'baby' like this one, is the fish of a life time to most of us.

Although if they keep getting smaller at this rate, you'll be catching skimmers in May. :D

Well done to the captor.

John.

Angling is more than just catching fish, if it wasn't it would just be called 'catching'......... John
