It'll be interesting to hear what the answers are...I dont have a clue where you would get pike from :lol:

That's a long way to go for a few pike Sean! Not to mention all the import restrictions!

 

FG Your first point of contact will be the Environment Agency as they will have to issue the relevant paperwork for you to stock the pike.They will also be able to suggest reputable sources for the pike AND hopefully give you good advice on stocking.

 

For the sake of the environment and the pike themselves it isn't as simple as you may first think!

And thats my "non indicative opinion"!

Does any one know where I can get pike from?

I have a problem with small fish in my pond and need a few pike to keep them down.

chuck a plugged in electric fire and the problem will disappear ,err what happens to the pike when they finish up the small fish? do you feed them with small fish?

That won't do much I don't think. That'll just blow the element and the fuse, thereby wrecking a perfectly good fire. I think you'd have to bypass the fuse and then add an awful lot of salt into the pond, which again, defeats the purpose of using the fire, since all the fish will die anyway.

 

It'll certainly sound good though. Might get a nice flash as well.

What sort of pond are we talking about, a small pool in the back garden, a large pond on farmland?

 

Would a few Perch or Chub be a viable option, they would keep down fry numbers with out as many long term problems as a Pike may present.

 

Or maybe a cat, either type ;)
