PAC Statement

Although our intention to expel the Blithfield anglers was generally known - they were all aware that they could talk the situation over with the club before any final decision was made and over two months, two letters were sent to each, re-stating this. None took up the offer to talk. The PAC members who fished Blithfield are no longer with the club. As a result, Neville Fickling contacted the incoming General Secretary of PAC, Mark Leathwood. Neville stated that unless he heard something positive from the new committee (taking over 13/5/00) regarding his readmission to the club, by 12th February, he would form a new Pike group. He added that even if he did this, he would merge the two groups if and when he came back into the PAC.

He also added that he would be prepared to rejoin PAC only if it went back to operating as it did in the ‘good old days’, when things got done but not necessarily by the book. This, together with his comments on pike preservation in the February edition of Pike & Predators appears to be the basis on which such a new predator group would emerge.

PAC has no intention of abandoning piking ethics and pike preservation just because it does not suit a few high-profile anglers but welcomes all pike anglers who appreciate that the club is there for the protection of pike and pike angling - not just for the few - but for ALL!

To those who feel that anything goes to get a result and that their ego depends on that result - ring Neville for a form.
