This thread deserves more responses. It's just that most people are so gob-smacked by such idiocy that they walked away shaking their heads when they read it!

Eating wild caught fish is good for my health, reduces food miles and keeps me fit trying to catch them........it's my choice to do it, not yours to stop me!

It'd serve them right if they got into trouble again and needed the RNLI to rescue them, but the RNLI are busy elsewhere answering a hoax callout

Probably DOES deserve more responses? But then again most would be unprintable eh?

It is to be observed that 'angling' is the name given to fishing by people who can't fish.

If GOD had NOT meant us to go fishing, WHY did he give us arms then??

(If you can't help out someone in need then don't bother my old Dad always said! My grandma put it a LITTLE more, well different! It's like peeing yourself in a black pair of pants she said! It gives you a LOVELY warm feeling but no-one really notices!))

I think the fine is pathetic, if it cost the RNLI over £2200 then they should be made to pay the cost plus a fine.

i know from experience outboards are thirsty but did they go round the long way via Aberdeen.

it amuses me when the council for example says removing a fly tip costs £xxxx err no it doesn't the fly tip removers are paid whether they remove fly tips or sit on their backsides .

if the lifeboatmen are volunteers they probably get expenses (i presume) so where is the rest of the "cost" going? as for the incident itself does it matter unless someone else died ,in anything else going to a non existent emergency its called "practice" in this case it cost nothing but perhaps the £80 fine shopuld have been given to the lifeboat organisation not put in some fund for the police or government
