Naming fish, mainly carp.

I dunno nightwing. The paylakers in North Carolina do tend to get repeat catches. Also, somebody named that singing bass fella - Billy isn't it? Probably named for Bill Dance. biggrin.gif

Actually, some of the serious professional bass folks (and lots of the wanna-be's) have an attitude that is similar to those I've heard described here. Tell em you are targeting Carp and watch the strange looks. I think they would name their bass if they could tell them apart.

Newt, you have that right about some of the bass fishermen. They seem about on par with the carp elite.

Don't know about the pay lakers, as I have never had the pleasure. I suppose in a small pond, under 100 acres or so, you might run into that problem, but I fish Lake Michigan, so it is not likely.

Even if you did, all I get are commons, and it would be tough to tell them one from another.

After all, after landing 40 or 50 fish in a day, who is looking for distinquishing characteristics?
