What fish is this?

It might have a bit of F1, Gibel, Goldfish somewhere in it's lineage, but I would still have called it a Crucian. I doubt there are many 100% pure fish around anymore even at the places that claim they have them.

if the fish is as large as the line spool suggests then it's a weird shape for a roach, our local ones, like perch tend to have arching spines behind the head once they get over a pound or so, if that makes sense, like....the line between the head and tail is kind of smooth and un-interupted on yours

 

without reading all the other threads it's also kind of silver orange, rather than silver blue. i'm certain i've had two roach/bream hybrids in the past few months

I've counted 30-31 scales on the lateral line, which would suggest a crucian/goldfish hybrid. Favouring the crucian parentage in looks.

Top one, I thought it looked a little goldfishey in the flesh

 

I thought common initially with the bottom one but it looks quite unlike the other commons in the water. It has a very high back with a lovely buttery yellow colour. It also had a unusual mouth with a single pair of small barbels. So I thought crucian hybrid. This lake supposedly did a 4lb crucian, which was weighed by the bailiff last week....

Initially I'd say top= crucian but perhaps a dash of goldfish or maybe a fertile F1 from the thickness of the caudal peduncle. Bottom= common but also perhaps a bit of goldfish from the slight arched back. In all honesty, I'd go with crucian and a common, its too close to tell, maybe they have 1/4 goldfish but doesn't look much more. Lovely looking fish though, whatever the lineage.

I'm not sure the top one is a true Crucian, I'd err on the side of Brown Goldfish.

 

Second one looks like a Common but is there any chance it's an F1 as it does look like it's got a bit of Crucian in it?

 

Going back 20 years or so I caught a fish I'm certain was a Crucian/Tench hybrid, that was one strange looking thing. Wish I'd had a camera with me!
