Wingham Fish-In - Bookings are now being taken

For anyone who's wary of booking because they'll feel out of their depth, don't be!

Most of the swims fish very well in the margins with the simplest of set-ups, and we have plenty of gear we can lend you. You'll also get plenty of help if you want it, not to mention a taxi service to and from your swim.

In fact some of the best catches come to Wingham virgins!

I've been asked when do bookings close. The answer is after about a week, so Tuesday. The exact date and time will depend on the amount of work at the lakes getting everything ready.

If I can give it a go anyone can, I never catch but the social side of it makes up for that!! :D

Please let me have the details Steve...I'd be happy to contribute to travelling expenses if something can be arranged with someone travelling from my neck of the woods.

I know I'm free for the Saturday and Sunday, but it all depends on the whim of my boss if I'm free for the Monday! I rather suspect not at the moment due to staffing cutbacks, so I'd need to be home on the Sunday night at the latest or I'll get put up against a wall and shot at dawn.

I've never really considered Wingham as an option before...it's always too far away and beyond my capabilities, but it would be so good just to be there!

Janet

Hi Janet, if you can get yourself to a station down this way I can get you to Wingham, you're more than welcome to stay at mine Friday night as we will be going early Saturday morning.

Bookings are now closed.

Not surprisingly I'm way oversubscribed and so I'm afraid some of those who've been before won't be able to fish this year. :(

The good news however is that, apart from syndicate members, all those who are missing out will get priority next year over anyone who's been before. In practice this means that they're almost guaranteed a place! :)

Those missing out are:

Richard Capper

Anderoo

Tincatinca

Babelfish

JK

Seph

Tigger

Miroku

Lyn

Liam

Sorry to disappoint you, but hopefully we'll see you next year.

All those who've got a place should shortly have confirmation via e-mail. Please note though if you cancel this year (say because of a bad weather forecast) you can't then expect to be guaranteed a place next year.

I think that if you cancel down to bad weather you can expect to be sectioned lol. Wild rampaging horses couldnt keep me away let alone a bit of wind and rain lol :D

It had to happen one day, I'm just surprised it's taken so long! Steve let me know if you'd like me to come along and help out with swim advice, etc.

And those who were seen dancing were thought to be insane by those who could not hear the music

Yes please!

I was well oversubscribed in 2008, but surprisingly despite good catches not in 2009 or 2010 when I just about fitted everyone in.
