lol imagine a blank after all that. :doh:

 

There may be one or two people who blank as weather conditions may not favour every swim and fishing being fishing that's just the way it goes. The fishing gods are no respecter of how far you have had to travel or how much trouble you have had in getting there :D But there is always plenty of PB's. Who will fall in to which catergory is anyones guess but with my "prediction hat" on I think you and Renrag may be amongst those who get PB Tench.

lol I will do my utmost to ensure your prediction rings true Dales don't you worry. I will be donning my camo boxer shorts and doing a fish dance to the angling gods before I set off so hopefully I can get them on my side before the session starts lol.

 

I am also hoping to collar Anderoo for some advice as he kindly offered to give me a few pointers on my swim. If the camo fish dance doesnt work then having Anderoo on side certainly will lol.

You don't want him on side next to you at the BBQ. Don't forget he is after a BBQ PB, you might find things suddenly disappearing off your plate :lol:

 

But I'm sure he can put you on some fish :thumbs:

As allways I'm really looking forward to the fish in. Despite being banished to the Carp Pond I will be spending most of the days on the course lake so hope to get to meet more of you than I normally do.

 

A lot of you will get PB tench that's for sure and if using worms there will be a few with PB Perch as well. Those wanting a PB eel may be unlucky though as I'm a bit concerned that the large numbers of 3lbrs we have had in previous years have done the off to the Sargasso! It will be interesting to see though as the fish in (due to numbers of anglers) should help show/disprove this. Oh and a good chance (if they're not spawning) that someone will at least hook if not land one of the big carp. As already mentioned the good old Jacks will be keeping some entertained!

 

As like Anderoo I wouldn't dare predict the weather the one thing I wont hesitate in predicting is that everyone will enjoy themselves!

 

As has been mentioned a lot of work goes into making this event happen yet alone be such a success.Prior to the Fish In the bailiffs (Glyn and Terry) work very hard getting the lake to its best,and this at a time when everything is growing so fast and they would really be fishing! The Burkester and his good lady (Peggy) are also snowed under with all the admin and preparation.Peggy's BBQ's are famous in the fishing world and this is not by accident,she doesn't stop working during the weekend.All this is done for our benefit...............and for free.

 

As such I hope all attending remember this (and that the bailiffs pay for their own fuel to run you about!) and respond accordingly.

 

Lastly I feel a bit guilty (as a syndicate member) saying this but also remember that (I don't count myself among them as I'm an AN member as well so really enjoy the weekend) a lot of guys who pay a lot of dough to fish here have given up their fishing for the weekend and a few days before so you guys can experience this very exclusive and remarkable fishery. I'm sure all they would ask in return is that you respect the place and above all enjoy it!

 

Looking forward to seeing old and new alike and remember any help,advice,gear to borrow then just ask.

Peggy, sounds like you can cancel the Burgess boys' BBQs, a bowl of fresh fruit and nuts should suffice ;)

Maybe you can give a "Ray Mears" style talk after one of the BBQ's on foraging for nuts and berries and point out the error of our ways to those of us who will be tucking in to Peggy's BBQ's.

Pah! I do wish you lot would stop banging on about Wingham!!!!

 

I was SSSSOOOoooooo close to being able to make it this year. I had the possibility of a lift and everything was working out fine....I had just one day of being excited before the big let-down....unfortunately something came up that I just couldn't get out of. That'll teach me to keep my diary up to date!

 

I'd probably have spent more time wandering around with my camera than fishing, but it would have been such fun.

 

Oh well, you lot are safe for now, but just remember....there's always next year!

 

Good luck to all attending, and I look forward to reading all about it.
