flying lures

I bought a set years ago. I was impressed by the way it fluttered into areas where you are unable to cast.

Needless to say I never caught anything with it. That isn't to say that it won't work though. I personally wouldn't buy them again.

I don't know which specific lure that you mean. I've come across the Flying 'C', also a pink coloured 'Lucky Thirteen', that was called a flying something or another :D . I do know that most of my lures fly. Trouble is they tend to over-fly the water and to crash land into reeds, trees and boats etc. :( .

Nope, Peter,

This was a kit or set of so-called flying lures (from Australia I think) that swam away from you as you retrieved.

Is that possible, how does the line get longer as you make it shorter?

Same principle as the otter-board and side-planer

Hi Nugg, they don't swim away from you on the retrieve ,you pause and give slack line like deadbait sink and draw style and the flat profile jighead slides backwards away from you each time you stop and do this.

I was given two to try and they haven't worked for me yet.

Your best bet is to get some soft rubber shads or curly tail grubs in 4-6" and mount them on a single hook jighead of around 7-14g and give them a try for starters.

Use a Lure Instead !! ;)
