Angler's Net Fish-In at Wingham

Hi Everyone. First of all I'd like to thank Steve for the fantastic time I had at Wingham, I went hoping for a PB Tench and came away with PB Tench, Perch, Pike and Eel.

Wingham is a truly special venue and I feel priveleged to have fished there. Steve's enthusiasm about the place and fishing in general

is infectious, he was sitting with me when I landed two of the fish and I think he was as excited as I was!

As Steve said all of the fish fell to Lobworm apart from the 6.06 Green Tench that took popped up corn. The 6.06 Black Tench and the Eel took Dendrabena and Caster, all the others took great big Lob's courtesy of Steve. The fight the Pike gave was unbelievable, ten minutes of sheer brutality! The Eel unfortunately escaped through a hole in my landing net so I was unable to weigh and photograph it. It was around three and a half feet long and bigger than any I've had before by some margin.

I'm having the photo's developed next week, I'll scan them in and post them on this thread.

On to Bluebell Lakes - I had been expecting a hard time at Wingham so after the success there I fancied my chances on the harder Kingfisher Lake at Bluebell, home of the UK's Record Common Carp. I arrived at lunchtime on monday and my alarms remained silent until lunchtime on wednesday when I packed up to go home - typical! :D

One thing is for certain - I'll be first on the list for Wingham next year, it was worth every minute of the long drive!

Thanks again, Steve!

I'll second that Rob. I only fished the Sunday morning, but five nice hardfighting Wingham perch made it all worthwhile.

I've been back for a tench since (caught one whilst Steve caught five in the next swim) and enjoyed a bit of messing about in boats, an activity to which Steve adds a new dimension - even his Volvo joined in the fun!

Hi all,

Just got back from the bonny Highlands last night so apologies to all for being unable to report earlier on my "Wingham experience".

After being away since the fish in, time is little short at the moment as you can imagine, but I'll try to write a report on how the weekend went in the next day or so. For now I really must say thanks to Steve for all the help he gave me at the time and for making the weekend.....Memorable!

I'll be in touch later.....

Apologies to those who haven't had their pics yet. Peggy's computer has had to be reformatted and, whilst we transferred the pics themselves over, we can't find the disk for the photo-editing package.

However we'll be buying a new program shortly. This will enable us to reduce the size of the pics to a manageable level and send them on.

Any suggestions for a very simple program that even I can understand?
