bream spod mix

It might just be me, but I can't properly fish for two species at the same time, I have to pick one and go all-out for it. It's just what I enjoy doing.

Yes I'm the same mate.On one water I fished it was quite common for guys to fish "2&2" Two for carp and two for big bream. When I have tried similar Ive allways felt that I'm compromising.

And thats my "non indicative opinion"!

However - and this is only my personal opinion - I think that to have the best chance of a bream you should ignore everything else and be really single minded. Fishing for the other species creates compromises, I think.

I see where you are coming from, but the "float fishing" is done primarily to check the undertow - really akin to depth plumbing or spodding out. Any perch would be a bonus !

If you want to be a real purist, you could use a chunk of sponge rubber instead of a bunch of lobs ! If anything took that, it would probably be a big bream

If we did all the things we should/could do when hunting a specimen fish we would never get time to actually fish! Ideally we would build up our knowledge of the water over time. Our experience on the water would then allow us to know what areas were affected by what in what conditions etc etc.......................trouble with big bream on the LSD/SB waters is that we often end up with a very limited time window in which to actually catch them so the luxury doesn't exist!

And thats my "non indicative opinion"!

That's what I like about the set up at Wingham Budgie. If I understand it right, you guys pool information and the individual gets more info' than his own limited sessions could provide.

Angling is more than just catching fish, if it wasn't it would just be called 'catching'......... John
