If you cross a Frog with a Yank

The Flying Tench

French & Indian War (at least that's what we called it) was France vs Britain for control of territory in North America with France (and to a lesser extent, Britain) using Indian allies. It was basically the North American theater of what became the Seven Years War although it started several years before that war broadened to a general melee in Europe.

Ahhh, so it was the yanks stirring the S**t that started the fight :P .

We wuz colonists at the time so we wuz you. We didn't learn how to behave reasonably until later when we became us.

All,

ATTA BOY Newt!

Strange how American history is written. School kids over here believe "America" began because of the little skirmish with George. Actually we leave out the first two hundred fifty years as colonies from our elementary history books.

You tell 'em Newt. I thought they might have been wieners ;).

I thought you were a good ol' Southern boy Newt, a Reb not a Yank?

Tiz all a matter of context Cory.

In matters purely US, I am absolutely a Reb and not fond of many things that originate in Yankee land (all the land north of the Mason Dixon line but not extending much west of Kansas) including our current President.

In matters UK, I am a Yank.

Ah well, you'll never be a "Yank" to me mate. I've spent enough time in Southern ports from New Orleans to Savannah to know the difference. I've drank in bars and saloons where a man could get a sore face, or worse for calling someone the "Y" word ;) Edited by corydoras
