Does anyone suffer from this whilst fishing?

On all of my overnight fishing sessions the morning after I suffer with chronic breathing difficulties, I do have asthma but never this bad!

It restricts me to only going for 1 night whereas I would love to be able to go for longer!

I think I have narrowed it down to the bivvy , whether it's the material used or how it's been treated!

Ive recently bought a new bivvy, so it can't be mould!

Does anyone else have this problem ???

Thanks

mike

Rump,

Had a pal who was extremely allergic to latex. If he went into a home with new carpeting he had to do a "U" turn and go directly to the hospital. Aren't most quality bivvys at least coated or glued with latex?

i have had the same issue in the past and found that it is worse in the summer than winter , doctors told me that it could be a reaction to the early morning pollen as it is just comming up form the grass and plants , causing me to have to take an inhaler to any fishing session i go on for more than one day , also take antihistomines to try and prevent my air passages from closing and chest getting clogged , but it could be an alergic reaction to the latex covering on the bivvy , speak to your GP and see what he/she says about it , see if antihistomines work too as it could help with breathing , also do you smoke ? could be something to do with that ...

Adam,

Just a quick comment. Smoking has absoulty nothing to do with it!

What kind of jerk would still be smoking in the 21st century?

(did I mention 25 a day?)

As mentioned it could be an allergy. If it's bad now with a new bivvy it suggests it could be that. Try not using a bivvy or keeping it as open as possible. All I can suggest is some tests to see what you may be allergic to.

A far out shot could be due to the reversal of Photosynthesis:

Plants give Cabon dioxide at night. At night, plants breath Oxygen in and discharge CO2.

Does the water you fish have alot of weed, margin plants, trees etc?

Other possibilities could be sleeping bag, pillow or bag cover if used.

take some menthol crystals with you put them into a small bowl add boiling water just before you

get ready to get your head down breathing in the vapor form these will open your airways

therefore aiding restful sleep & breathing. B)
