New Fishery Open north west

Recommended Posts

Hi all just wanted to let everyone know about a new carp and course fishery called Cliffedge Fishery that has opened in Horwich near Bolton its off chorley old road the post code is bl6 6py. The lake is around 2 acer in size with 16 pegs its very well protected from the eliments with it being in an old quarry. As far as i know the lake was first opened as a club water back in the 1940s and was stocked with carp, bream, roach, rudd, tench, and some catfish ive seen carp to over 20lb on the surface and some really nice bags of silver fish comming out with the odd big bream. The place is very nice and run by a local family they sell tea, coffe and snacks on site and even a bit of bait and iam told that they get there own boilies made for there lake and they do seem to work as several fish fell to them last week up to the 17lb mark so its getting off to a good start with the local carp lads and is getting known locally as a really good silver water with roach topping the 1lb mark and the rudd well over 2lb so there is somthing for every one. Mick the fishery manager told me that there are limited memberships that are £55 for 12months fishing from the day you join so you dont lose half the seasion day tickets are £4 and night fishing is avalable but you have to book and its £12 per night for 2 rods and £15 for 3 rods to book ring mick on 07956286012. It is a really nice place with lots of fish and well run well worth a look!

Hope so, and that they give you a free disposable BBQ with each ticket. :D

  • 5 years later...

for some reason, keri looks absolutely overjoyed to be getting a wedige in the first few seconds. did she really like it?

:huh::blink: ???

Still, I guess that might explain what you get for your £15!

John.

Angling is more than just catching fish, if it wasn't it would just be called 'catching'......... John
