Which camo gear? Is it worth having?

DPM isnt camoflage, its disruptive.

 

hence the name, Disruptive Pattern Material

 

the art of camoflage is not to look like the backgroud, but to conceal the person.DPM helps to make the normally recognisable shape of a person, less so, its designed for people, not fish.

 

anyone who thinks that wearing expensive cammo gear will enable them to catch more fish than someone wearing DPM should seriously consider getting out more.

 

blend with the background by all means, but remember, a wise angler once said...

i wear a flourescent yellow jacket whilst bailiffing many times the angler whom i`m talking to has caught whilst i`m standing next to him ,i say the fish come over to investigate this strange yellow thing

Reminds me of a fly fisher I saw the other evening, he had waded carefully to below the fish he had spotted and watched it rise a couple of times....he cast and the fish dived for cover....."I can,t understand why" he said...

If you are tucked up in the bivvy at night, how are the fish going to see you anyway. When stalking, stealth and a pair of good polarised specs will help more than the colour of your underpants. But if it's a confidence thing, then get the asylum to let you out more.

Theres too many tackle tarts in this world and the tackle companies definately know it!!!

I dont care what i wear as long as its not fluorescent green etc. Especially if fishing 100M out.

I must admit to owning realtree and being a big fan of it.

 

I refer you to http://www.realtree.com look at the field pictures...can you see em?

 

One thing to mention is that unless you're fully glammed up in the stuff, there's not much point.

 

For the most part I wear chesties and whatever top underneath suits the weather conditions, royal blue for the most part for advertising [ooh err]

 

Camo makes a difference if you're already a good stalker, if you're not, it wont.

Hi Mat, I reckon the backdrop is made by 'Realtree'

 

At the end of the day a good average is all you can hope for, hence, perhaps, DPM.

 

A good base layer with single skin changeable outers would make more sense than buying an expensive coat that is only effectively camouflaged against a suitable backdrop.

 

Perhaps we should ask the fish!

youd be a bit Bu**ered if carp used different light frequencies to us ,you in your camo may be walking lighthouses to them whilst me in my flourescent coat may be totally invisible

everone knows that camo only works at a distance if the disquised person doesent move ,only the "frilled" camo can be used moving slowly ,with infra red detecting heat cams anyone is easily spotted whatever their wearing even in smoke ,bees see ultra violet can carp see in the infra red
