I do like the style of the Revolver but not the colour or price! But To be fair Ive seen a lot worse at a lot more.(BTW Ive never used a Revolver so I am only going on the info Ive read from people who have on here whose o"pin"ion I respect in regard to its practical qualities).

£250 can start to get you in "good example" of a proper Match Aerial region. But that said if a newer reel is as good as an old one the why not buy new? Suppose I'm a bit prejudiced by the many £250 modern pins I have tried that have been no where near as good!

I can vouch for them (I know Alan Roe thinks very highly of them) Budgie, they really are nice reels and imo well worth the price that one's up for and more. There as good as any match aerial and probably better made.

Forgive my ignorance, but is the Revolver a true 'pin or does it run on bearings?

I have both; a vintage and very nice Match Aerial bought for around £100 and at almost twice the price, the Young's Purist copy of the Aerial that leaves me a little disappointed every time I use it. It is not the bearing aspect that is to blame as my old, but renovated, Stanton is a joy to behold. The Young's just doesn't have that 'feel' to it that the vintage reels have.

Regards, Clive
