Alan,

I agree, Terrys rig does have the weakness you point out(but "specialists" have to use rig tube! wink.gif) And Stef Horaks was worse!!!, my rig does not have the rig tube and i use those slide on float stops and believe me they slip!it is far safer than many rigs in use....i don't know of a "perfect" rig though

I'm not saying that these rigs are perfect...none are and i have no reason to leap to these guys defence (quite the opposite in fact!!..busier waters!) it's just that some are so ready to condem others without any real reason.......to be honest it was the whole attack on the methods linked with two hook (not multi!!)rigs boats and everything else linked with this that got my goat up.

Some waters are very challenging but potentialy very rewarding and need a different approach.......i see nothing wrong with that.

There was never any "ATTACK" about any methods in the original post on "Is This Fishing" which started this debate. There was just an open question for other peoples views on a particular method !!!

Obviously some of the views expressed dont agree with your own but I hardly feel "ATTACK" is the correct word to use in relation to the original post.

Wazzy,

Just to clarify things from my view point,

I did not consider on my part that Paul implied that my comments on this subject was an attack on his opinions. Far from it.

My comments concerned the rig on display in AT and were NOT based on anything that Paul has used in the past. As Paul stated, he would not continue to use tackle that damaged fish. No one could argue with that.

Tha damage to fish that I have seen were caused by rigs very similar to the one in AT. That is a fact.

Also, I was not attacking anybody either, I just turned it around into a thread regarding two hook rigs and carp fishing and why I think they work and then voiced what I feel are bad points. For some reason Paul you took it as a personal attack on your style of fishing which it was not.

As I say I can good see points in using two hook rigs for carp fishing and I can see the bad points mentioned by others here. If you are happy with your methods and they are legal then thats fine. Sorry if you took it as an attack, it was not meant to be.

Chris,

It's all to easy to get the wrong end of the stick sometimes, the internet is good but not as good as a beer and a face to face!! ( bit like talking about fishing and actually fishing!)

Debate is good at the end of the day and as long as we all pay our round theres no real falling out......looks like it's my turn to the bar smile.gifwink.gif

I'm a student i refuse to pay these high beer prices! Anything more then £1 a pint is extortionate!

Okay okay! I'll get a round in if you answer my question: Are multiple hook rigs unethical when sea fishing and why?
