Tadpoles

Most fish just lurve taddies and slurp them down by the mouthful. Carp, especially, go mad for them when they mass in the margins.

Tadpoles are certainly eaten by perch, and I can recall catching many perch (to about 1lb) at the ponds in Clayton Woods, Leeds, in the early 70s. They were fished almost freeline style, under a used matchstick nicked onto the line for bite registration. The Yorkie term for this technique (which also worked with maggot & caster) was 'pimping'.

Dear all

I have fished amongst tadpoles and have taken many eels which when sacked have coughed up a fair few.

One member of the National Anguilla Club used a single tadpole as bait and had an eel from the water targeted...I believe all fish will scoff them when the masses are in the water.

Yours With Respect.....

Steve.
