My partner is into baking cakes etc and has starting doing a few xmas cakes for friends and family. Below is just two of the xmas cakes she has made so far, both are fruit cakes.

Why don't you advertise on Ebay??

At this time of year there are plenty of lazy people who would love to buy a cake like that.

 

 

Myself and couple of others are trying to get her too - not sure about ebay in that we would want to keep it local/pick-up only but yes I'd love to see her get a few orders and make a little out of what she loves to do

 

Here's another one she did for a friends wedding, this is a four tier sponge cake - each layer of the sponge was a different flavour.

A Christmas cake should be baked around this time of year, but should not be iced and decorated until a day or two before Xmas day.

 

The cake should be stored in a cool dark pantry, wrapped in brown paper and fed with sherry from time to time. Some people bake their Xmas cake as early as Easter.

The problem isn't what people don't know, it's what they know that just ain't so.
