I too much prefer 49 strand wire as it lasts an incredibly long time without kinking. As a result it works out cheaper in the long run.

 

I knot it using an untucked half blood knot, 2 turns with most breaking strains, 4 turns with 15lb. Pull on the short tag end when tightening otherwise the end gets pigtailed.

 

I use Wonder Wire in the 44lb the most, but my stocks are almost exhausted. I've also used American Fishing Wire's 49 strand in 40lb and can recommend this also.

Yup, it was the PowerPro one, which he promotes heavily everywhere (he's almost as bad as JTBaggers ) , that I was thinking of!
