I'm still awaiting my first barbel and I wouldn't mind a zander. I got a ticket for a complex with the ouse going through it so I hope to have a go for barbel, somewhen. As for Zander perhaps this winter ?

Don't want to be too bigheaded here but barbel really are pretty easy to catch ('cept this season for me!) Try reading my article on catching barbel.

 

Never caught a shad (either) Zander.

(Grass carp/orfe/exotics don't count)

 

Of the difficult ones I have caught a millers thumb all the loach family and a number of genuine silver bream.

Big - I haven't caught any of them. And given the money exchange rate, it looks as if I never will.

The list is endless really, Barble, Grass Carp, Zander, Bream. Hell I could fill the whole page. Not many freshwater species here on the Island.

Zander, grass carp, shad, pumpkinseed (although my mum has!), bitterling (but I do know a water with them in), catfish (except in a net), powan, salmon, vendace, etc.

 

Had a golden tench the other week - first one.
