Would you transport livebaits?

Third time lucky.

It has become apparent to myself (over several years) that some pike fishermen would not only transport livebaits from one venue to another to use (without the necessary documentation) but would also recommend this behaviour as long as you didn't get caught. I personally feel this to be unacceptable behaviour and along with other like minded persons would make sure the person was exposed to be carrying out the practice and ultimately hope they were caught in the act and prosecuted for the offence.

Would you/have you done this and why?

No I wouldn,t transport livebaits.

Nor do I "guest"(poach) waters.

Use banned tackle, or baits.

Fish outside legal hours, or seasons.

Refuse to buy a Fishing Licence.

All of the above, will preclude me from ever being, an Angling guru, specialist, or "character".

Thankfully.

You're being far too modest. None of the above will stop you from catching just as big pike as most illegal live-bait users .. fact .... try some Sink 'n' Draw too Now, pre-baiting .. that's legal and another story !

Naively, still, even at my advanced age, I still expect "known" anglers (e.g. those in the Big Pike List) to set an example to others (you can't get more naive than that, can you?!), but over the years I have sat and listened to quite a few of them proudly boasting, or lying, about using/not using live-baits and/or poaching venues.

But, I guess, it all depends what you/one would/wouldn't do to add another 20 or 30 to your tally. Depends whether or not you're amoral or law-abiding.

Let he/she who is without sin, cast the first stone, though, ...... eh, Peter W?

Cranfield l believe that the definition of poaching does not include fishing waters that have no controlling angling club or no 'No Fishing' signs? My 'guesting' takes part on waters on which l 'fish' but don't wish to hunt or steal anything from i.e.sailing clubs pits.

Def. Poaching

1. to trespass, esp. on another's game preserve, in order to steal animals or to hunt.

2. to take game or fish illegally

And to have to break the rules to be a guru/specialist...............never thought about that!!! :P
