Last year, while enjoying my pole fishing, but not getting much, I decided to have a cuppa. I rested my top 2 in my "V" shaped pole rest. Unnoticed, I had left my rig dangling in the water, turned my back to fill my cup out of my pump action flask, (10 seconds at the most) "WHOOPS" top 2 gone, but still visible zooming about the lake like a submarine periscope, (visions of a very large carp). A young chap jumps in and retrieves my top 2 for me, what was hooked? "a 4oz ghostie", bloody hell, can those little things go.

Never again do I dangle!

Anybody else had anything like that?

I've had 'medium' tench pull the rod off the rests as a kid
