Epoxy resin coating

A good epoxy should be impervious to any chemicals anyway. Not sure what it would do to the blank.

 

Don't use any form of intense heat near a carbon blank.

 

Stick with the Stanley blade,personally I'd use the sharp side but if there is any likelihood of you being at all clumsy then use the back.
