Just a quick question really ....as the title suggests , if making a payment or purchasing anything then are you ENTITLED to a receipt , if not offered , then can you ask or even demand one?

Quite right. even filling up at the garage, as well as the till receipt, i always ask and get a vat recipt. However if the transaction is less than 100 quid you don't need a total breakdown to reclaim the vat if you are registered.

If someone don't want to issue a recipt, they could be dodgy cash merchants, call the tax man?

New for 2016 TAT are the main instigators for the demise of the u k bass charter boat industry, where they went screaming off to parliament and for the first time assisting so called angling gurus set up bass take bans with the e u using rubbish exaggerated info collected by ices from anglers, they must be very proud.

Upgrade, the door has been closed with regards to anglers being linked to the e u superstate and the failed c f p. So TAT will no longer need to pay monies to the EAA anymore as that org is no longer relevant to the u k . Goodbye to the europeon anglers alliance and pathetic restrictions from the e u.

Angling is better than politics, ban politics from angling.

Consumer of bass. where is the evidence that the u k bass stock need angling trust protection. Why won't you work with your peers instead of castigating them. They have the answer.

Recipie's for mullet stew more than welcomed.

Angling sanitation trust and kent and sussex sea anglers org delete's and blocks rsa's alternative opinion on their face book site. Although they claim to rep all.

new for 2014. where is the evidence that the south coast bream stock need the angling trust? Your campaign has no evidence. Why won't you work with your peers, the inshore under tens? As opposed to alienating them? Angling trust failed big time re bait digging, even fish legal attempted to intervene and failed, all for what, nothing.

Looks like the sea angling reps have been coerced by the ifca's to compose sea angling strategy's that the ifca's at some stage will look at drafting into legislation to manage the rsa, because they like wasting tax payers money. That's without asking the rsa btw. You know who you are..

Ermm , the problem is that it IS the tax man who will not issue me with a receipt!!!! To cut a long story VERY SHORT , i paid a tax bill to hmrc this morning after many phonecalls of wrangling and short responses from them i agreed to pay the bill , a sum of more than 3k. The conversation was a little odd but i double checked the phone number before calling and all the usual security checks were conveyed and then came the payment process which was when the alarm bells started ringing. He instantly put me on hold for a matter of a minute then an unusual noise was heard in the background , not sure but sounded like hard plastic on a table in an empty room. Anyway , payment was made and he seemed a little quick to the get process over and me off the line , i asked if payment was done , yes , i asked if all other matters were resolved , yes. I asked for confirmation of payment by way of a receipt in the post , NO we don't issue receipts at hmrc , what we do is issue you with a reference number in case of any problems.

I stated that if you buy a pack of chewing gum at a supermarket that you are given a receipt but i have just handed over a large amount of cash and all i'm given is a reference number.

I am not convinced i have been dealt with correctly , i even might have been a victim of card fraud, not sure either way.

I will be contacting hmrc AGAIN tomorrow with my pretty little reference number hoping that i haven't been a victim of fraud and if not will be asking for a receipt again.

Am i being unrealistic in asking for a receipt?

anyone using a card is open to fraud (but with a credit card they are part responsible so you have some rights to a refund) and handing over a cheque just gives your bank details on a plate

your card transaction is a receipt the money went from your account but i cant believe it was dealt with over the phone ,hopefully you phoned them

Payments can be made over the phone. However, I don't think for much longer.

They will not issue a reciept for telephone payments by card.

Your transaction will have an ID number linked to HMRC, if indeed that's who you paid.

My Cousin advises that you never pay this way in future.

Always deal face to face and record the transaction with either your mobile phone or digital camera.

What doesn't speak doesn't lie and is admissable in court.

Contact your credit card company immediately if you suspect fraud or else you may not be covered.

If you have a video recording you handing money over to an HMRC advisor then you have definitive proof of payment.

Also make sure the advisor counts the money in front of you.

Just saying what my cousin told me and he works in a local tax office.

Fairies, mediums and ghosts???

You been on that funny stuff again?...lol

Chesters...tut tut... ;););)
