Phone - I'm not either.

The weather decided not to cooperate. Yesterday was mild and with only a gentle breeze. Today was cool with a high of about 5ºC, some rain, and winds from 10-25 mph. However, we waded out to the sandbar and to the end where water from the creek mixes with water from the main river and as of noon, Jan's ashes are somewhere between the sandbar where we loved to swim & fish and the Gulf of Mexico which is about 80 river miles south of us.

I have no real opinion about religion or afterlife but I did say I hoped she was in a place where Grandmothers who loved to swim, fish, and spoil the 12 grandkids she inherited when we married would be well loved and appreciated.

Her passing left a great void in my life but I have been amazed at how electronic well-wishes from friends of hers has helped. My thanks to all who have responded on the forum and via email or facebook.

RIP my love

My brain still refuses to let this sink in.

And such an ironic t-shirt in that photo, Newt!

I was there but was not if you see what I mean?! BUT I wish I could have been a fly on ANY wall!

It is to be observed that 'angling' is the name given to fishing by people who can't fish.

If GOD had NOT meant us to go fishing, WHY did he give us arms then??

(If you can't help out someone in need then don't bother my old Dad always said! My grandma put it a LITTLE more, well different! It's like peeing yourself in a black pair of pants she said! It gives you a LOVELY warm feeling but no-one really notices!))

I don't seem to come on here as much as I used too and have only just caught this.

My sincere condolences to you and your family Newt.
