Passing judgment, Lord Reed, who had consulted an 1892 Treatise on the Law of Scotland about the rights of fishing, backed the anglers, ruling that the right to fish by fly was enshrined in law.

A sound decision

 

I was amazed at the feeble excuses put forward by the opposition "anglers could use other methods" "anglers could fish other pools" etc etc

 

You might just as well say "anglers could fish other rivers" or "anglers could join a bridge club"
